The Story Of A Second-Hand Shirt

By Derrick Williams MBE, KitAid Founder

"It's more than just a shirt ..."

KitAid is a registered charity, run entirely by volunteers, which sends unwanted items of kit to projects across the Developing world. It started in 1998, and is celebrating its 25th Anniversary this year, and will also reach the incredible milestone of donating one million items of kit in 2023.

The charity has a long association with Watford FC, as Graham Taylor OBE was patron until his untimely passing in 2017, kit collections have been held on match days, kit has been donated from the training ground club shop. There are literally thousands of children wearing the Yellow of the Hornets across Africa, South America and Asia.

The Watford FC Community Sports and Education Trust has been a close friend of the charity for many years. We are proud to be associated with the Trust and congratulate them on 30 years of incredible community support.
